XCiting 300iR, antitheft lock assy
« on: August 19, 2024, 07:52:07 PM »
Since I sold both my, XCiting 500i and GrandDink 150 into good hands, a scoot had to come in again.

There was one, (XCiting 300iR) BUT had a slight manco. The antitheft lock was closed and obviousely this little spring broken.
There is a way to remove this "bezel" which covers the antitheft and lock cylinder. (green arrows)

Talking about a mechanical lock without Nodoo.

Removing this upper part is possible but bears the danger of dropping the whole assambly, (if the fixation bolt is lose) which causes even more headache.
Dealers solution is to renew the whole ignition lock and charges €400,- for it.

THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE DONE TO STEAL A SCOOT! You need the original key!

IF your antitheft lid locks unmoveable AND it is YOUR OWN scooter:
-take an electric drill
-drill bits 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 mm
-mark the center of this alu lid (red arrow)
-drill out this piece until 12 mm
-use a vacuum cleaner during and after drilling to remove ALL alu shavings
-put your key into ignition and problem solved.

You do NOT have this lid anymore but you saved €400,- and are mobile again.
Needless to say this 300i found its way into my garage.
