It is time...

It is time for me to hang up my goggles. Time to quit riding. The last thing I want to do is lose my footing while at a complete stop and topple over. My strength is waning and that is the first likely to happen.

Anyone interested in rehoming a couple of 300 injected scoots?

Karl, I'm sure you'll find good homes for your scoots...and sorry to hear you're done riding but glad you could make the decision yourself before something forced you to.

Since you won't be out riding you can spend a little more time on the forum guiding the lost souls toward answers to their scooter troubles!

It’s a decision which we hopefully all get to make at some point. I only hope when the time comes I have the courage and sense to make it as you have.

Rapidly any of my experience will go out of date. Seems like no one wants any tech assist these days on OX-5 engines....Har, har!

I can relate, Karl. I'm not as wise or as disciplined as you, though. I keep getting lighter weight motor bikes, starting with Gold Wings, then finally scooters, now maybe my next scale-down will be an E-bike. Have you considered that option?

I do like the looks of the Kymco adventure bike concept, could be in my future if it comes to the US

Well the Curtiss 8 is some years before my studies but we had some similar beasts to work on and to learn from.

Was building an e-bike for wife...might have to get back on that...
Got a couple of Segways for the ranch and Segway mini-pro's for grocery shopping! We are notorious on those mini Segways at Walmart! I have to work at staying sub-sonic! Har, har!

Italy has been no slouch when building superb engines over the eons. I have seen pictures of Fiat dirigible engines that were astounding! Enzo made a V-8 for a model of two-seater the Kansas owner had a spare on a pallet in his office. That engine was so light, I could pick up one end, one-handed! I think it was a Ferrari Monza circa 1960...  Then there is Ducati...
