For those of you who have been following this saga, the time has come to bite the bullet and change tyres on my 2 year-old DTX360 for the second time.
I was taken with the Anlas Winter Grip 2s and initial thoughts after fitting were positive BUT, in less than 2,000 miles the rear is shot, as the picture below shows!. I could possibly have eked it out until the Spring, but as it's already "white lining", it doesn't inspire confidence and my preference was to change out early. So, are the Anlas Winter Grips an "all season" tyre? I think not. In my 'umble opinion, they're for winter use only.
So, it's back to my old faithful Michelin City Grip 2s which have given me true all season good grip and longevity on the past scooters. OK I lose the rufty tufty off road look of the Anlas or even the OEM CSTs, but as my ride spends 99.5% of its time on tarmac, what's the loss in fitting a 100% road tyre? There's no harm in trying new things, but when you want to be sure, go with the tried and trusted I say! After I've had them on the DTX360 a while, I'll report back here.
