To insure I'm not getting knock-offs, I ordered correct Dr P slider weights and slide pieces from ttps://www.buggypartsnw.com today.
I've dealt with them for over a decade.
Also,
I have a new OEM Kymco belt, still sealed in the bag.
An OEM valve cover gasket to re-seal after a valve check.
A new Iridium spark plug to install - while I'm down there.
A new OEM air cleaner.
A couple of new OEM nuts for both ends of the CVT - I'll buff the clutch pads and bell..
I've a bottle of Honda gear oil - while I'm lying there hugging the CVT - I'll drain and replace.
And, still down there - I like to break free and lube the brake sliding pins every so often.
Maybe next year I can renew the brake fluid....with my mightvac. Thx for hiding the reservoirs Kymco!
This stuff takes me an afternoon because I like to clean everything as like new....and sometimes I doze off on my thick rubber floor mat. (paper towel roll = pillow
I remember well my first attempt to do the simple belt change......I was stopped fully by the belt cover refusing to come off!
Stuck - on step one!!
Darn thing was glued on there....! Hours lost here....
This sort of thing is quite common when I undertake a
simple service for the first time!
Doing something on the LIBERTY - step one was removing the passenger foot pegs. NO GO~! the two torx bolts were stuck fast! on a brand new scooter! 2 hrs later....
Anyway......let's not talk about it....
I did try to set fire to my LIKE after one valve check.
Left a big 'ol wad of paper-towel below the valve cover to catch any oil drips....
Rode over to the state park - dismounted and wondered what was burning in the forest?
Scorched that paper towel black on the exhaust header....
Well, I've had 12 good years on my LIKE - if I should break it - I shouldn't be upset.
