Good Day Everyone, I am back again.
« on: December 10, 2024, 03:12:03 PM »
Firstly, I hope everyone is still doing well. Some of the older members might still remember me, I am the guy who previously lived in South Africa, and owned an Agility 125. I've moved to the US (legally) to the US three and a half years ago, and have donated my beloved Agilty to my granddaughter before I have left.

In short - since my arrival in the US I've bought myself a Honda Silverwing 600 and a Suzuki Boulevard C50T. I still enjoy both but I dearly missed my previous Agility.
We visited our Children in South Africa during the previous December and I took my granddaughter's Agility ( my ex- scooter)for a spin.
Well, I instantly got hooked again. On top of this - I immediately realized that by getting rid of the Agility, I actually got rid of the "fun factor" of my life.
Make no mistake - I really enjoy the Silverwing and Boulevard, but it simply does not offer fun like carting down the street on an Agilitywith a bag of potatos or bag of oranges between your feet.
So to keep things short , I am super exited - I've bought myself another Agility 125 during the previous weekend. 2014 model with 2200 miles only, in perfect condition, for $600.

Only problem, my wife does not know aboutthe Agilty yet. She will probably kill me when I break the news, but the ex owner and his wife are great people. They've offered to keep the Agility in their storeage facility until I manage to find a good time to break the news to my wife.

So here I am again - super exited. I will definately visit the forum more often in future.

Have a good day !

Scooterfan and fellow Iowan! Glad you're back in the scooter business. I also hope you've enjoyed your last few years in my home state. There are a few other members around here that live in Iowa. $600 for a 2200 mile scoot? Sounds like a fantastic deal. Tell your wife it's a 'can't lose' deal...you can ride it for years and then sell it and get all your money back, someday.

That's great scooterfan!
I think I remember that your town in S. Africa was having problems with drinking water?
anyway....should be plenty of snow-melt in Iowa!

Glad you found another Kymco!....and I remember your photos of your granddaughter on your scooter.

Good luck with the Mrs.!
Photos of your 3 rides when you get a chance!

@ Ruffus - thanks for the welcome, I really enjoyed the forum in the past and I am sure the future will be no different !

@Iahawk - yes Iowa is a great state and the intention is to stay right here for ever. Due to my previous job I've been in 41 states but I could never wait to be back in Iowa to sleep in my own bed . The other states are great too but my wife and myself are more than happy in Iowa !

@ Neil955i - thanks ! I took some photos of the Agilty at the seller's house and will try to post one or two for the time being. I previously used a PC for posting photos at the forum but I nowadays only use a laptop and iPhone. I still need to figure out whether posting photos will be as easy as posting photos from a PC.

@ Stig - yes, total chaos broke loose in South Africa and we have left just at the right time. Water towers have been sabotaged in the area we lived and people had to find water for dayly use elsewhere for about a month !
Shops have been looted or burnt down completely and people were desperate to find food and whatever was needed !

If you want more information about what was going on in South Africa you can just do a Youtube search by typing in "Looting in South Africa 2021". There are many videos to see what was going on.

Whatever happened or is still happening over there -  My wife and myself are done with South Africa - we feel far more safe and secure in the US. We are truly Blessed to find ourself in a new country called "Home" !

I think those babies are the VW Beetle of the Kymco line. Solid and fun to own.
Good for you!

@ Stig,

Yes, these little scooters are great fun. Trust me, I am currently more exited about the Agility than being exited about the Silverwing or Boulevard !

In short - Since I’ve bought the Agility I got my life back. The Agility makes me feel like a teenager again !

Thanks for the good wishes.

The color is exactly the same as the color on my previous Agility. Despite the good price, the color is part of the reason why I could not let the scooter go. I loved the color in the past and I still love it.
Yes, the mirrors are not original and I hope to find originals like at my previous Agility. I already started looking for a similar top box mounted to my previous Agiliy. The idea is to make the Agility look like an exact replica of my previous Agility.

I must admit - my "new" Agility is far more than just another scooter. It became something very special, a reminder or symbol of very special times with my granddaughters in South Africa.
My granddaughters are currently more than 12k miles away from us. Money can not get my granddaughters closer to us permantly - but money can bring me a symbol of the past right at our door step.

On top of this - I am not getting younger and I can not see myself riding the Silverwing or Boulevard for the rest of my life. Both will eventually become too heavy for me.

But I can see myself feeling the wind and riding into the sunset of my life on the Agility....,,

Hopefully I'm not getting too crazy. But maybe this explains my love and relationship with my Agility.

I went smaller and lighter, too, scooterfan.
Down from a Forza and a Burgman400 - enjoying my smaller scoots and don't miss those other two.
Too much.

Yea, at this stage of my life I finally came to the conclusion that size really does not matter.
At the time I only owned my previous Agility I was dreaming of riding something bigger. I thought riding something bigger would add more joy and happyness to my life.
But since I bought my current rides I realized riding something bigger might impress others - but it did not make a positive difference in my own life.

For the time being I feel blessed by having the opportunity to ride something bigger whenever I want to. But like I've mentioned - size does not matter in my life any longer. And riding something bigger did not bring more freedom or happyness anyway.
