On another site I visit, for old farts on 2 wheels, someone was recounting how he was seated in an Indian hotel room googling his route for the following day. Prompted this response from me to George - Isn’t technology wonderful? I bet, like me, you can remember planning rides before we even had mobile phones? Do you still have any old paper maps? Mine are consigned to a box in the loft now 😂
I still recall one of our party getting stuck in England (long story) while we were ahead in northern France and trying to organise a rendezvous via the landline with missing pal’s wife back home! “Tell him we’ll be on the Mulsanne Straight in Le Mans tomorrow morning at midday!” Amazingly, it worked and for the rest of the ride around France & Germany the three of us managed not to lose one another.
