4 stroke and 2 stroke cdi

hi can a 6 pin dc 4 stroke cdi be used on a 2 stroke scooter, or are they different?
got 4 wires coming from loom, earth, 12v+, pulse and output to coil
does anyone know anywhere that stocks one in the uk?
