Saw my first 2025 VW Bus today
« on: March 04, 2025, 06:59:42 PM »
ID. BUZZ

Would have preferred, "VW Buz"
Spotted it at my local VW dealer today - and stopped to take a look.

This is the Pro S 2WD model.
With $3K dealer accessories price was $66,344.

note: only the rear/quarter view photo is the most accurate color of this silver Bus.

strange port-hole window in the side glass. I guess that giant glass can't roll down....?

I guess this Pro S model is for the macho set..... of new VW Bus owners. (??!!)

I prefer the happy, two color, models, reminiscent of days gone by.

Our first 4 wheel vehicle - purchased by my wife - waiting for me when I came home from the games in S.E. Asia.
Loved that thing! ( it was a year old, purchased from a VW dealer for @ $3000)

We did see a tesla truck recently - my goodness that thing is ugly!

3 observations on that Stig:

1. Love the shape - even more so than the old VeeDub bus!
2. The 2 tone colour way is the best and
3. The Tesla truck is an abomination of a shape. What were they thinking?

Regards & ride safe,
Neil

yes on 2 tone colors, Tesla shape, large flat panels, lower manufacturing cost ?

still my favorite generation of VW bus, here is pretty close copy of the '57 Transporter my brother had, a double cab pickup would be my bucket list item

Randy - you'd be filling that poor Doka to the rim of the bed - and work it to death!
Hauling trees, gravel, snow, farm animals, etc. :)

Randy - take a look at this vintage bus club in Germany. Michael Steinke has published several VW bus books (amazon has some) - and used to be the leader of this B-K club.

The photo-archive pages are amazing - esp. the meets a Bad Camberg. Willi Lottermann's dealership was the oldest in Germany!

doubtful that I would use it as any kind of work truck

The '57 Transporter my brother had, he acquired from a local PD as an abandon vehicle, didn't run, original 28hp? motor, he got is going, painted "ROLLS CANARDLY" on the side (rolls down one hill, ca hardly make it up the next) and on the back, a pair of hand prints where one would push, and "UGH!" underneath

original engine didn't last long, my brother owned a foreign car repair shop, and sponsored a VW Type 3 in Nascar Mini-stock, yep, he built a 2180cc stroked motor, with the low gearing, still couldn't go fast, but quick to get to speed
