I like how legible is the simple dash on my LIBERTY 150i.
It is well lit and the color is pleasing to my eyes on my night rides.
Key on, it displays the basics, then settles into a clear and useful instrument.

Big enough - easy to read.

I always enjoyed my Honda Forza's 'key-on' antics!

and while I haven't been in a multitude of automobiles, I've never found a more thoughtfully placed or easier to use set of gauges than those in the late Scion xB's. Built by Toyota, modestly priced, customizable, Toyota hoped to interest younger buyers.
I've never seen a more legible set of gauges -
even in the brightest sunlight. Push buttons can scroll through average speed, MPG's, fuel range, etc, etc. The placement puzzled me - but I saw their reasoning after driving the car. Brilliant - like a fighter pilot would expect. Line of sight. Not down in your fists.
