Ready for winter to end!!
« on: January 19, 2011, 06:43:47 PM »
 :D
I am soooooooooo ready for winter to be gone!!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to skid in broadside , thoroughly used up , totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!!"

Don't forget Axy that here in the US most scooter riders are somewhat of a rarity, especially here in the north. Sometimes I feel like there is a bullseye on me when I ride. When you see a lot of people driving a huge SUV and talking on their cell phones it does not make us feel safe. Sometimes people will ride your tail just to get a closer look. I always take the back streets so it is not too bad. I have recently been riding with an open face helmet and a respirator that directs my breath down not up. cuts down on the fog and really keeps your face warm. here is a link. I am sure others have used one but it has allowed me to ride here even in 25 degree fahrenheit weather. But ice is a different story! I will have to get some chains for that.

it works better than that diving snorkel that I had been using.  :P

Let's see now. . . A season lasts 13 weeks.  We're about 4 weeks into official winter.  About 9 weeks to go.  Better button up, all.

For those who'd like to thank me for that -- You're welcome!  :D

P.S.  I'm ready for Spring too but gotta have patience.

I am soooooooooo ready for winter to be gone!! You and me both. Gas is getting very pricy. Can't wait for 45 mpg instead of 15 mpg with my cage.
Just remember, if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.

Nashville got rain, turning to freezing rain/sleet, turning to snow, today.

About an hour ago, I got a hankerin' for a cheap 24oz. beer, and set off to the Sahib-Mart a mile away.

I got around the complex once, and parked it -- stayed upright by the grace of Dog Almighty, only.

I count myself fortunate, and rather stupid, as well.  :)

Yeah, that ice sucks.

I rode home in freezing rain and ended up with a thick coating of ice on my visor.

Had to ride the rest of the way with the visor up and freezing rain pelting my face and eyes.

And I didn't even get a beer out of it... :-[

The really hardcore would just have an emergency beer tucked under the seat.
