The guy that started the Scooter Superstore chain died last year and ever since, the family has not been able to keep the company going. I have heard some discussion that they did not have a business plan that showed the transition of the company and who would be in charge if he died. Well, he did and they were not able to effectively manage the transition. In addition to the company struggles, the scooter market as a whole is about half the size it was in 2008 (number of new units sold). The courts finally closed the operation.
I heard the guy was legendary in his support of scooters.
