Get the Picts. up. Maybe your camera/phone has a virus/malware that gets picked up by the server? I saw the picts. missing.
The scoot lasted awhile tho. Did you change something besides the spring?

Yeah, my puter had messed up recently but those pics were from photobucket. IDK. i had posted those a good while back. I can repost once i get them off of my copied disc.
I havent posted pics of the piston yet. The cyl walls don't SEEM affected with running my fingers around the cyl wall. Still seems smooth around, and something did hit the piston top, guess a piece of ring. Gotta get that exhaust off. I'll probably do that in the a.m at this point.
Of course the stock of those piston kits are slack as crap everywhere. Out of stock signs.. :(
Gotta work on getting one of those. DAM i need my z up.

I was trying to get some pics uploaded to photobucket but it's acting funny. sh** freezes or way to slow. IDK if it's cuz i havent upgraded the ram yet(upgraded to win7, some sites are a tad slower, so i want to double up the ram) or it's them them selves.
Dam, now i cant even upload the dam pics. What a  morning already...
I got her apart and of course it's worse than i even thought. At some fkn point the c-clip came out.
Wonder if boring to a 48 is possible? HA, if it's affordable to me.
Way hard being the broke man of the bunch trying to mod scooters.. :D ;)
This is just SOOOOOOOOOOO fkn depressing....

I've got a salvagable cylinder if you need another one.  I can clean it up an hone it for you. :(

There are 47.5mm pistons too!
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=47.5mm+piston&_sacat=See-All-Categories
Easy hone to .5mm over. I used the Yamaha 80 piston in the Malossi jug. Just have to assemble it in the J. engine (ZX). Took about 1/2 an hour of up, and down on the drill press. I set the tension on the hone SUPER light to control the "chatter". I saw where you said "piece of ring". Do you set the end gap on the rings? The tiny "tabs" on the end of the ring at the pin WILL break if you dont causing... well U know. I saw on J.'s site a fellow had a loss of rpm's after a soft seize. The consensus was a mis aligned cylinder due to not properly torquing the (bolts/studs). I think it was end gap. The wear marks were on opposite sides of the Ehx. port showing (to me) the rings had nowhere else to go.
Point is end gap is important.

That looks like what I described. Is the broken end AT the pin in the piston? Looks like the dome edge broke at the exh. port from no end gap. The ring gets forced into the exh. port, and gets caught on the edge. That's my 2 cents
If the pin is at the spot with the score in the piston it is possible the lack of gap broke the locating tab first causing the ring to "leap" into the port. Anyway... ALWAYS GAP YOUR RINGS

Never tried gapping rings, never liked the sound of filing brand new rings.. ;)
Anyway, no the fkn c-clip musta been the culprit.
The tabs on the piston are intact, c-clip missing, fkd cylinder up, broke the rings and piston..
Areomyst was suppose to place an order like a month or better ago for another piston but never has.
Good thing i guess.
Thought i had it set up to bore out but the f***S dropped the cylinder and made a mark on the skirt and then they wouldn't do it. Tried telling em, i didn't give a crap about the skirt...

Hopefully soon i can order some oem parts for it since Rage's deal musta fell thru.
It'll be real hard to whip up on my homeboy's scoot then.  :'(
HE got a 150 engine we installed in a daelim e5.(now it's going in a gy6 frame,extended..4 scooters making it.  ;D 1)gy6 50(peace sports..yuck)..2)yamaha vino..3)gy6 150...4)gy6 "gator"..yuck again..
I could whip that 150 on MY s9 before....he'd get me on hills though

DAM, I  DON'T WANT HER OEM.  :'(
bet i'd get better mpg though.  :D

Holy time lapse Batman.... :o
It's been a minute since anything has went on with this scooter..
I dreamed of another kit for my Black S9 but dam i never have enough cash at the right time....
Was going back oem, then the fund situation again...
I FINALLY sourced an OEM Cylinder AND Head for the Black S9..  :o  8)  :o

Got a GREAT, GREAT deal on the combo....IMO....
Have already ordered the piston kit
Blacky will rise again very soon..... Bad-Ass OEM.... ;D

I only have the Arreche 19mm carb AND the technigas RS-2 for it.  :o  :-\
SOOOOOO, IDK how she will like that being a oem bore BUT Haze runs like a MO FO for the size bore. I was very impressed with the oem engine.(when i got the black 1, i put a kit on her then. Hadn't ever rode a s9 before) The 19mm may be to much... Hell, the pipe may be to much but i have seen and heard ppl using a 70 pipe on a oem cyl.  :) Any input on that one?..... ???
I can't wait to have this one alive again regardless.. My family needs to run TOGETHER... :D ;D
