Scooter newb
« on: February 23, 2011, 01:08:50 PM »
I am going to look at an agility 50 on Thursday. the owner says it has been garaged for 15 months and will not start at the moment but with a new battery and tune up it will be good. approx 1500km. what does a tune up include? Can I get a battery at a local car part store or motorcycle shop. I am excited about getting a scooter but do not want a money pit. What should I look for as well? It's missing right mirror to can I find parts easily?
  THANK YOU for any help.

You should still be able to kick start the scooter . You did not say what the asking price is , or the milage , or what the general condition is . All of this should be considered . You could VERY easily pay more than the scooter is worth in your excitment . A battery is about $50.00 , spark plug under $5.00 , mirror around $25.00 . BE CAREFUL ! Good luck .

if it's missing a right mirror, it may have been dropped "crashed", so check for other damage marks. The steering may then be damaged. Try to get a ride before buying

Ok so I've decided that I am just gonna get a new one. Don't want any hassle. Getting a smoking deal, I think, on a new Agility 125. New = 2 year warranty. I 'm stoked on the scooter thing.

Whenever I see an item for sale that is advertized as not working now but needs just a simple fix I can't help but wonder in amazement why the seller didn't just fix it . I can't help smelling a rat or fish or something . Just my opinion . I think you are making a smart decision . Enjoy your new scoot . Good luck .
