If I deside to put sliders in and not rollers would I have to buy a new variator or can I use the same one I have the stock one.

Same one but a new variator, such as one from malossi, will also increase performance and reliability.

Word of caution... Some companies are advertising sliders that are, or are similar to, dr pulley sliders.  Make sure you are ordering genuine parts.

According to people on the forum they push up easier and last longer.  Better performance vs the same weig roller.
