  i have a 02 zx50 super fever as it sits it does 50mph but i just read all the posts about derestricting the cdi to make it get 50 but mine does 50 and the cdi has been left alone by the way i bought it used by a older guy who had it and a 200cc kymco he bought after the zx but 3months after he bought it he got t-boned on the 200cc and died. so r.i.p but i know he did not do much because he had it worked on at the shop i use and thy told me it is bone stock. he did not buy there but they have had it all apart before to work on it. i am lost i wana know why it is so fast for being bone stock.

I have a bone stock 2002 people 50 that does 50 mph . I was told in 2002 Kymco didn't restrict the p50 . Maybe the same is true for your zx .

just spliced the wire and got 55 top but takes forever to get there

Somethings not right... The BEST i got..... was 53 out of my "stock" zx....ported,pipe,jetted,squish,etc...
You have to have a kit on there if your riding at 55 now..
50 with a rescricted scoot??   not a 50cc

G'day thebatman, his speedo might be out a little more than most, hard to believe cause they are a long way out to start with. Mine did about 75 with derestricted cvt, 85 jet and a touch over 80 with cdi limiter bridged.

i know forshure it does 55 my  brother just spent 250.00 on a leovince kit it came wit 70cc jets exaughst new clutch with rollers and springs before he did about 45 after they told him the gps said it does 50 but i get about 2 cars ahead of him at top speed? and my scooter says 50 but if i get a long stright it will slowly get to 55.

i just took it down the street where there is a speed detector it matched the scoot it told me a flat 50 my scoot said flat 50? not alot of run to try to get 55 but whatever im satisfied for $600 damn good deal.
