Question: New to the scooter's, Downtown 300i. Is there anything that has to be covered/sealed when washing this unit. So many in's and out's to clean. Am talking about  hose washand just rinsing off?

Just don't go using a high pressure wand. 
I use a spray nozzle on a standard hose.  I have one that has a wide jet, which works well.
I use Simple Green to clean and have had no issues with any scooter or motorcycle.
You should not have to cover anything.

Thanks Portland Steve, I think I am too particular to how clean mine is. Further, You stated simple green, I used it for a good while then I switched to
Mean Green.

I use the spot free rinse to wash the soap off.  It's always set at a lower pressure than the other choices.

Be sure to rinse well any areas that you use th Simple Green on.  I hear it can ruin aluminum.
