I've seen 73mph on mine, no downhill, but I had the wind in my back.

Imagine the consumption and air drag!  ;D ;D ;D

ok guys so what is it with my scoot? IF my top speed is in fact 56mph and you guys (axy and Cortez) are getting in the low 60's at least (adjusted for optimistic speedo)...how is it mine doesn't get there?

might it "loosen up" with more miles on the engine? i am tall (6'3) and long of torso. might that be "dragging" the scooter a little? might i need to dump the emissions stuff and start to tinker with the carb?

anything at all you can offer would be appreciated. i know about tune up stuff and CVT mods and all that, but the scoot runs PERFECT. i just want, oh, 5mph more on the top end, maybe
scoots!

The wind and your clothes make a lot of difference since there's no wind protection.
Going down from 14 to 13gram roller weights on mine I've lost some of the top speed and
now I usually can't get over 60mph on the speedo, and 65 was possible every single time
before.

Who knows.
It's not like you'd want to ride at those speeds for long.
