2004 kymco super 9 is it liquid cooled or AC

As the title says im looking at buying a used 2004 super 9 with 1000km on it. I want to know if that year is a 2 or 4 stroke and if its liquid cooled or ac. Also, what does ac stand for im assuming air cooled? Finally, are there any things to be worried about with either the liquid cooled or ac engines and are there any other recalls or things i should check on the scooter before i buy it?

My 2004 Super 9 is liquid cooled (in USA) and I believe they were for a few years after that.  I have never had any problems with the cooling system....very simple.  A water pump and a radiator. 

1000km is very low mileage.  Mine (purchased in 2005) has about 13,000km.

There was a recall (check the Kymco website, it should be listed) for bad engine mounts for the 2004 year.  The housing of the engine near the mounting point can crack, the rear wheel will let loose,  and your scooter will be running sideways!   Check the serial or engine numbers to see if your scoot qualifies.

I never received the recall notice as my bike had sit at 2 different dealers unsold.  So mine catastrophically failed while I was going 48mph down a bridge.  Very scary!  I had it towed to the dealer and the fix is entire new engine/trans.  Paid for by Kymco 3.5 years after I purchased the Super 9.

If the serial numbers match the recall numbers, Kymco might still replace the engine as I'm sure they don't want the dangerous ones on the street.

Other than the engine mount failure, the Super 9 is a great ride!  I still love it.

thanks for the heads up on the recall. The guy im buying it from said that he had the recall performed and has documentation on it being performed. After the recall has there been any thing with those engine mounts causing a problem? That worries me that they had to fix that and if the fix does hold up? I definitly dont want that happening to me like Wil B. This will be my first scooter so i dont want that to happen and not wanna go riding anymore. So updates with anyone who has had the recall done would be excellent to see how the mounts are holding up.

I've had no problems with mine since the recall. 5,000+ additional kms.  If the recall was taken care of then you should have no problems.  The engine mount is part of the actual engine casing which was a 'bad casting' and the reason the cracks formed in the mount area.  If Kymco replaced the entire engine as per the recall, I'm sure the mounts would be good.
