Noob Trouble Starting
« on: April 14, 2011, 02:00:56 AM »
Noobie here. Just bought my friends 2002 50cc Agility. I bought it knowing the electric start was not working. It has been sitting in the garage all winter so I am not too disappointed about that right now. I gave it a few test drives last week (my friend used the kick start for me), no problems, felt good. I got it home yesterday and I cannot even get it started using the kick start. I obviously am doing something wrong. I read the manual and I cannot figure out what is wrong or what I am doing wrong. All I wanna right now is get it to the shop about 10 blocks away to "get it tuned up". Any tips or pointers on what I am doing wrong? HELLLP

My bad for being such a noob :-\

At first glance by the shop down the road they predict a new battery and a new carb or at the very least a carb cleaning should fix my problem. We will See! I'll give an update incase anyone runs into this problem. Thanks for the response

I had a problem with my ag50 not starting on the button but would kick start after a few tries. I could hear the starter clicking when I pressed the ignition button.

I was teaching myself stuff by reading forum posts on this site at the time.

I disconnected the battery, removed the cdi, removed and cleaned the spark plug, pulled a cable off the top of what I believe is the starter and gave the connector a bit of a clean, changed the oil. I then put it all back together and it starts with the button now.
