How to know if running lean at Idle

Does anyone know how to tell if you're running lean at idle or slow speed?
I know plug chop is the answer for high speed.
Is there a sign of running lean at idle /slow speed?

Perhaps a plug chop at 1/4 throttle might be worth a try.
