I held off doing mine for months cos i was too scared i'd break it,wish i hadnt waited, its pretty esy and it makes a big improvement in performance.

I did a full derestrict,

Race variator with 5.5g rollers,
variator boss,
#82 main jet,
cdi cut.

Runs great now, over 80kmh/50mph down hill,75-80kmh on the flat.

jump in
Chaos is my co-pilot.

Ah nice man  :o

im fitting my parts on wednesday, cant wait. i've got a Race variator and a Race CDI as well as a new Drive Belt. im looking forward to doing over 30mph. My journey to work consists of 8 bends (those are the only fun ones when u do 30) on a 35 mile stretch of road, but come weds all the bends will make my journey exciting  ;D  Btw if i do fit a #82 main jet am i right in believing that i can fit a high flow air filter and new exhaust?

thanks for all the replies guys much appreciated.

Take it your changing the variator boss same time when you do the variator? If you havent already did it?

hello again
i have done the work to the agi 50 fitted all the new parts and she is running really well. just afew questions though.
i have a race cdi (no rev limit) does this mean i have to be very very carefull as not to blow my engine? i only found out after i fitted it  :-\ does this pose any danger?
also i tried the new belt it was abit wider but it made the rear of the bike shudder under acceleration and deceleration so i swapped back to the old belt and it feels better.
plus when i am doing 40+ mph i get alot of vibration through the foot plate from the engine (is this normal?)
hopefully you will be able to clear these worrys for me.

thanks for the help so far  :)

Have you de-restricted your variator boss?

The little four stroke is pretty bullet-proof so I wouldnt worry about it blowing up :)

Vibrations are normal if they are not over excessive.

yea its a full derestrict, i fitted a race variator which came with the smooth boss and two sets of weights and a 1000rpm torque spring. i fitted the torque spring and race variator (with smooth boss) i plugged in my new Race CDI so i have a new power curve but it dosnt have a rev limiter which im worried about because i dont want to strain it. other than the no rev limit im pretty damn happy with the results.
