Downtown 300i exhaust

Anyone know where to get a better exhaust for a Dt 300? Like a Leo Vince?

haven't seen any specific full systems yet. So far I am prett happy with the stock system. I can start and ride my bike in the neighborhood without complaints.

Personally I prefer a quiet machine, slight rumble is fine though............. :)

An aftermarket exhaust on a scooter (without other modifications) is likely to
make the performance worse, not to mention the horrid single-tone sound that
no one sane should try to amplify.

JCosta mods are what you want for performance, leave the exhaust alone.
..and don't expect miracles, it's 30hp after all, and that number isn't likely to change.

Let's hope you didn't waste your money buying the DT300 if you're gonna need a lot
more power soon..

I do not know what muffler this is but I like the sound............



Edit; Even if you could severly modify this with Nitro or a supercharger and even get 45 BHP this is still nothing outragous. You will never make a rolling rocket out of this bike. My idea here is just to make it a better ride. With the way the transmission keeps RPMS down we are not in the pipe so really we may only be seeing 20 HP or less to the wheel. This can be attested to by the faster acceleration times by just changing out the rollers and getting to the pipe at WOT.

I may look into the J-Costz variator, looks intersting to get the RPM's up on acceleration but keep them down at cruising speeds.

That looks like a Remus Hexacone to me, or a very good copy..

That looks like a Remus Hexacone to me, or a very good copy..

Has to be a copy, the one you mention has very pronounced angles and flats on the tip for the exhaust pipe at the end, this one is almost rounded...................

In Japan a Downtown 300 is called a Nikita 300.  If you go to youtube and type in Nikita 300 you will see a DT with a remus hexacone.

could you post the specific link? the one I came up with is the muffler I posted above uless you are talking about the one below but it claims to be a generic too..................

it is a bit too lound for me, something that had a comprimise between stock and these might appeal to me though............

Actually 4x the displacement is a penile aid, indicating the lack of masculinity................. :)

All I want is a pleasant but respectful sound. Not too much you can do with 300cc's though. Being primarily a biker the sound from the engine with the CVT still sounds strange to me. Having an overly loud muffler would only serve to enhance the weirdness.

There seems to be more and more scoot's running around by me. While I still hear a fair amount of loud shifters, I have yet to hear a loud slider. One of the attractions to a Cager thinking of converting to one of these as a commuting alternative is a quiet bike. A mode of transportation that can be both admired and respected by their peers. An overly loud and obnoxious scooter serves only to disway alot of the target market for these bikes.

IMHO loud mufflers on these just gives off that moped like impression. As if they just do not, under their own design, have enough power to cope.  Either that or we are just too cheap to have a real muffler or fix the bike properly.  Again to me a loud bike gives a low quality impression. To each their own, some people argue that you need to be heard. I’d rather be seen than heard and if they are admiring the bike you are likely to be paid more attention to.
