« on: May 19, 2011, 05:46:59 AM »
Hello

Can you please help with vario settings.
I would like to restore original settings for this scoot, but dont know which are they.
rolls, spings, etc.

Or if you have experience, what is best setup for it?

Thank you in advance :)

Hi,

I found best spec ever, after testing and some changes:
Weights: 8g.
Clutch springs: Malossi white
Driven face spring: Malossi Yellow.

Speeding/acceleration from 0-50km is about 4-5sec.
Top speed: not known, as still having drive in process due to new piston and cylinder.
Hills :D speeding up, not losing power.

Just keep this post, maybe there is somebody else with same Kymco People problem(s).

Thank you for the ideas :)

Hello again,

problems problems problems
with spec I had it was fine about 60km.
Then again no power, or acceleration.

At the moment I have:
CDI - free unit.
Iridium spark.
Weights: 8,5g.
Clutch springs: Malossi white
Driven face spring/Torgue: Malossi ( 2000rpm ) Red.

Compression in the engine is 10atm
And on the spido 16 000km

I was truying also Malossi Belt, but Kymco People has somekind of special clutch, like with small teeths, and normal belt cannot be used, so still riding with the old one until I will need to change all the clutch just to use Malossi belt.

13.06.11 there is no special belt, just the clutch was ...lets say, it had better days, now I have new clutch and malossi belt is on.

So nice bike

Same old question...if you know factory specs for this scoot?

CDI - free unit.
Iridium spark.
Weights: 7g.
Clutch springs: Malossi white
Driven face spring/Torgue: Malossi ( 2000rpm ) Red.
Malossi belt ( after Clutch change )
Main yet in carb: 85
0-60km without any delay or rev.

So best perfomance for this scoot.

I ordered a torque spring set for my agility 50, get 3 sizes 1000 ,1500 and 2000 in it. Was going to try the 1000 cos I thought 1500 maybe too stiff but might trythe 1500 now you said it works on your scoot well. Did you notice a big difference with it in? Better uphills?
Chaos is my co-pilot.

Hi, yes.

I was testing from Malossi Multivar to the Chinese wonder parts :)
For excampel there is no difference between white 1000rpm an yellow1500rpm malossi setup/settings, same perfomance very slow uphills, at the moment as I was writing, I have heavy rolls 7gramms to have good end of speed, white malossi clutch springs for better acceleration and finally red torgue spring2000rpm to have good uphills power + malossi vario belt :D perfomancee is the Best one as much as it possible with 50cc scoot.
Basic would be: rolls are for top speed, clutch springs are for takeoff, and torgue spring is for upskill perfomance.
+ I made changes in the carb aswell, bigger main yet? I think it is in english :D there was 82 now it is 85
By the way here are very good manuals for the kymco scooters: http://kymcopartsonline.com/catalog/table_overview.php?s_fk_manufacturers_id=21&s_fk_model_year_id=1&s_fk_scooter_model_id=8&osCsid=8075df3dd4ce3d388f47847f7ebaaa1e

forgot to mention, I changed also vario, similar to this polini, but chinese copy:
http://cgi.ebay.com/REPLACEMENT-VARIATOR-KYMCO-People-50-Spacer-50-/270733924508?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3f08ffd89c

As this one is lighter than orginial one, and gives also more air inside vario.

By the way you cannot compare Agility and People, as they have little bit different engine types ( gear section ) and wheeles, your scoot is 12" and my is 16" this is also big difference in driving/perfomance. You should test like I did, what is best for your scooter.
As this one is my 35th two wheeled friend :) I know that if you even have 2 scoteers same year and even same production line, they are completly different in the perfomance, dont´s ask why as there is no answer.
Good luck with testing!

Thanks GM, i fitted a 1000rpm spring today and tried it with 7.5g rollers but it was bad uphills so i changed back to my 5.5g rollers and its much better now. Need to order some fly springs, going to try 1500's and see how i feel with them. Maybe try the 15oo or 2000 torque spring later with the 7.5g rollers in again to see how that is but no time just now.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

Bad uphills, this is problem with the 1000rpm spring you need to have bigger resistance, like 1500-2000, then you will see difference, as the idea of the torgue spring is to hold power longer stabilized when you are drivign up to the hill, so lets see how does it work on your scoot. ;)

But yes, welcome :)

Hello GM

What is your top speed with this people s 50 ?

Stefan
Hi Stefan,

as my weight is about 110kg, it is different in your specs :)
But I was forced to change torgue spring to yellow, as this red one didnt open all the time.

Top speed is about 55km/h.
But I think that belt is not running correctly and the main problem is with boss drive, it is 38*20mm, and I think belt is not running down correctly.

Any ideas?

Mine just by playing with the cdi box i get 72-75km/h top speed ... but im 73kg ...

I will; try you mod ... probably will get more speed ...

Little question ... why put an irridium spark ... what we gain doing this ?

Btw ... just tried with a passenger .... was a 115kg ... and was at 70km/h top speed ...

Stefan
