Kymco's marked down
« on: May 22, 2011, 10:04:02 PM »
I currently ride a touring style 150cc Chinese scoot that has ongoing electrical problems. My local Kymco dealer has a few 2009 models on the floor & has marked them down to get them out the door -- an Xciting 250, Grandvista 250 and a People 150. With the discounts the Xciting is only $45 more than the Grandvista. I'd love a faster, much more dependable scooter to use for a commuter and for local road trips. I like the fuel injection and the bigger wheels of the Xciting, plus the $1200 discount that brings the cost barely above the Grandvista.

Maybe I'm just trying to justify a new scoot, but with prices going up because of high demand, this seems like a great deal on the Xciting.

Thoughts or opinions?

Don't expect much from Kymcos early fuel injected engines.
The Downtown 300i has a modern engine (with help from BMW), but the old 250i and 500i aren't.

I had the GV250 and now the X500.
The Xciting has the far superior chassis and more comfort for rider and pillion. But it is not made for agile zigzag in the traffic jam.

For this, you need either 50 cc scoot or 600/1000 sportsbike. :) :) :)

compared to my Vino, my GV feels like the epitome of luxury... like I'm riding on my Gold Wing...!
