malossi variator effect on KM/l?
« on: May 28, 2011, 01:44:35 PM »
hey, so far ive got about 30 kilometers per liter with the mods: CDI cut, jet #86, power air filter, smooth boss...

the next thing i will want to get is a malossi multivar, but then, will that give me more km/l?

for the guys using mpg, 1 mpg is roughly 0.4 km/l

Second kymco agility 50 (2010) 20.000+ km. Project Fuel Injection. Stolen.
Kymco K-pipe 125 (2014) 7400 km.

1:30 with a 50cc 4T ?

My Agility did 1:43ish with 50cc, and now I still get 1:36 with a 72cc kit.

I must admit that I do most of my driving in the countryside instead of in the city, so that could make some difference.
(but I do use the throttle as a digital device (on/off) though... :-)

If you want to travel with same speed as before then you will do more km per liter  cuz you don't need to keep full throtle ... so there will be some fuel saving. BUT ;D BUT :D I doubt that you won't go full throttle cuz we all know more speed = more fun. The variator just send the belt further increasing number of rotation of the clutch bell which means increasing speed , but anyway the consumption won't go higher , only your km/h will.

yeah sucky km/l, cus i use it for news paper delivering in the morning, and repetive starting and stopping eats fuel :D

but to sum up: a new variator would make the motor more efficient, if at the same speed? :p

I think so , but don't expect miracles , teoretic  it's possible cuz you will rev lower for same speed ...
