Anemic Horn

Has anyone upgrade their horns?  I wanted to put a Stebel Magnum on my P-150 but there wasn't enough juice to the OEM horn to make it work.  Do I have to run a relay to the battery?

I just installed a Stebel Nautilus on my People 150.  All i have to say is WOW!!  What a difference!  If you are looking to make some noise, the Stebels are great.  You WILL need to use a relay to make the horn work.  Run a wire from the positive post on the battery to the relay Input (usually maked 30/51).  Run a wire from the relay Output (usually marked 87) to the + connection of the horn.  You will need to run a line from the - connection on the horn to a ground screw somewhere.  then connect the two leads from the OEM horn switch to the 85 and 86 connections on the relay.  (doesnt really matter which lead goes to which of these two connections).

Where did you mount the Stebel? Is there enough room where the OEM horn is mounted?

Yeeeaah, this was the biggest problem with install.  I tried and tried to get it to fit between the two front body panels, but in the end it just would not fit.  My biggest issue was that I did not want to cut but holes in the exterior panels.  In the end, I put the horn in the glove box.  It fit just perfectly, and after drilling and cutting a bunch of holes in the interior of the box for air and flow, it fits perfectly.  I also had to cut a hole in the bottom of the box for the wiring.  Keep in mind that the Magnum is a bit smaller than the Nautilus.  You may be able to find a spot between the front body panels to mount it.  My original plan was to drill one hole in the panel that is in front of your knees, and then several small holes in the front panels to allow sound out.  That may work for you.  I mounted the relay in the spot where the OEM horn was mounted.
