Let us know how it goes when you decide to tackle it! In the meantime, if you want to adjust your idle up a smidge (not enough for the clutch to engage of course) it's easy to do. The airbox is the big black plastic part that is directly above your transmission cover. If you follow the air box to the left, you'll find your carburetor. There's a rubber flap covering the carb, but if you lift it back (or look through the holes in the flap) you should see two screws. The larger of the two in the center is for your idle, and the smaller of the two is your air/fuel mixture.
Just to give it a try, you might want to screw in the air/fuel mixture screw and count the turns. Remember this number, then remove the screw entirely. Spray a bit of carburetor cleaner into the hole where the screw was, hold your finger over the hole, and try to turn the engine over a few times with the kill switch engaged. (The point is to draw air through the carb, not start the engine). Repeat this a few times, then put the screw back in the way it came out. Usually 1 1/2 to 2 turns or so. This might help, but you should consider it a 'quick fix' at best.
