That doesn't sound like my GV. It starts easily when cold.
Some times it takes 2 pushes of the starter button, but never more than that.
When hot, I may have to crack open the throttle for it to start.
I would add some SeaFoam to the fuel system. In addition to being a fuel stabilizer, it also cleans varnishes that stale gasoline has deposited.
The small fuel jets, like choke and idle jets, are the easiest to be affected by the varnish deposits.
