Pilot screw

 My Agility 50 is running lean and I dont know which way to turn the pilot screw (in or out) to get more fuel. And does anyone know how many turns to start with?  Thanks   Dale

normally you turn it all the way in then. back out 1 1/4 turns. worm the scoot up then adjust it by 1/4 turn back or front wards.  untell the scoot runs smooth. rember to do sparg chop after you ride the scoot a day or so.

The pilot screw only affects the mixture when running idle (throttle closed) and really has no noticable effect at WOT (wide open throttle).

If your engine is running lean while it was (or could have been) OK before, you should check for air leaks and clean the carb/jets first.

If your engine was already running lean when you bought it new, you should try a larger main jet, in most countries they install smaller main jets for passing emission tests.

I had to change my main jet from the factory supplied #80 up to #84 to get the mixture right with a standard 50cc engine...

Thanks, I bought a #85 main jet and didnt get it yet,do you think thats too big if I have an 82 in there now? I guess its possible that theres an 80 in there now but I think its an 82. My problem is Im struggling to get 35 mph and I did all the derestrictions(cdi cut,smooth boss,5.5gram rollers and iridium plug) very frustrating    TY

From #82 to #85 should be a noticable step upward, might be just fine if all else is okay...

You did check your sparkplug before deciding that it was running lean ?
There might be something else going on, 35mph is not much for a fully derestricted Agility, even when running a bit lean...

Like mono says, 35mph is way too slow for  derestricted agility, i get 48mph with a stock airbox, stock exhaust, #82 jet, cut cdi, smooth boss, race variator, 5.5g rollers.

I was getting about 43mph, on the clock, without the race variator. Did you fully cut the cdi wire properly? checked your air intake hose isnt kinked or blocked where it sits under the panel? Dirty air filter? Something is not right anyway, you should be faster than that, i get 35 uphill now!

You should really be getting around the 43-50mph mark on yours with your mods? I would think anyway.

I checked the plug and its dry and white,thats what makes me think its running lean,that and the speed thing.I weigh 200 lbs,could that be why Im not getting the speed,or could it be the jet?

Well im around 170-175ibs so i dont think its just that, i get 45mph or more with my 8yr old daughter on the back of mine. Weird And annoying.

How old is the scooter and what mileage is on it? Take it you have no warranty?

Its 1 year old and has less than 1000 km on it. Its under warranty but they said Im not gonna get much speed out of a 50 anyway. The jet is my last resort,that and maybe a race variator if it may help but Ill get someone to check my jet 1st. If it happens to be only an 80 Ill order an 82,but if it has an 82 in it Ill install the 85. does that sound about right?  thanks

You would need to do plug chops to check. Give your plug a good clean 1st or fit a new 1.

You should def get more than you get without the race variator, I would be bqck at the dealers woth my warranty asking why I get nearly 10mph less than all other derestricted agility 50's and tell them you want it fixed. Tell them to make sure you have the smooth boss fitted cos it def doesnt sound like it is right now.

Riding lean WILL damage your engine.
