Peters I have similar situation with my scoot,I learned that just 3 days of not starting my scoot and I will be having a hard time starting it,But after atleast 50+ kicks and it will start, still gives me that scary feeling that it will never start. What I do now if I'm getting hard time to start is I put a rag on the kickstart lever and I use my hand to kickstart or punch start(lol),I found it easier that way,but either way I will end up all sweaty(gud workout)lol. It's not on the manual what to do but I learned it from you.
Over all my sting 50's running great.

Yeah, the mechanic at my dealership told me when I bought it if I ever had trouble getting it started to try kicking it. They're funny little machines huh? I also noticed if I give it any throttle at all(when cold) it doesnt start. My 4 wheeler(also 2 stroke) is completely opposite. I have to give it gas to start.

That hard to start, i wondered if the auto-enrichener/auto choke is working.

The autochoke was my first thought when hard to start, but if it was it will be hard to start everyday,my scoot only has hard starting after 3 days of no use.So I'm guessing it could be that the gas might be evaporating leaving some gummy deposits blocking or sticking something in the carb.
If this is happening to me and Peters ,I'm sure we're not the only ones.

Haha,Gud one, there's a possibility that the gas from the float bowl evaporates and reduce the gas in carb and needs to crank to fill up.that's still a mystery right now..

Leaving it for a few days will allow the fuel in the crankcase, cylinder and carb to evaporate, the length of time will determine how much, then will take some cranking over (kicking) to get the fuel back through the system. You blokes are in summertime now eh?

Always summer here in Hawaii(lol),.Makes sense what u said SID,samething happens to my friends Ruckus,it takes few days of no use and his scoot will need several kicks also to start,at least 20 kicks.I'm not to sure about scoot with 70cc kit, might be different.

Hahha, I hear ya buddy!

See but if im not mistaken Honda Ruckus is a 4 stroke bike. So the fuel evaporating from the crankcase couldnt be the problem with that. Must be in the carb.

I think the small cylinder displacement has a lot to do with it. Maybe the small jets cant clear the gunky gas out as fast. Then when the bowl fills up again it takes some time to dissolve the gunk. Just a theory. Still doesnt explain why kicking works much better than electric.

No drain on the battery, more power available to fire the cdi.

Okay guys ,back to the topic,So I'll assume that if our little engine doesn't go past 65+ mph,Our piston and cylinder will be safe from harm of over rev and lack of lubrication. So far the fastest I've ran was 55mph (going down hill).Kinda scary with the stock tires.

Not nessesarily no.... It's gonna be hard/imposssible to get 65mph on a 50cc anyway..(im only getting gps 55 mph on a 72cc, but sh**, what a fkn blast getting there..)
You could be on the center stand and over rev it to the point of damage if everythings not correct

Hey Bat,I'm assuming that 55 mph is on level ground right?so downhill you'll probably reach 60+mph with 72cc kit,I have a friend with your set up and he's leaving anything in the dust on acceleration.
