Hello everyone, Im new to the forum. I just acquired a 2005 Kymco MXU 250 and it runs great.... but, it sounds like there is a ball in the crankcase rolling around. Its not "knocking" .... let me explain.

I pulled the belt cover off and grab the pull start piece attached to the front belt pulley and spin it back and forth (just like 1/8th turn back and forth) and it sounds like the flat part of the crank lobe is slapping some kind of "ball" and it goes up the side of the crankcase and back down and continues to roll back and forth until it settles. I have never seen this type of thing before and I have rebuilt several atv and car motors...

Anyone have an idea? I downloaded a parts diagram and found that there is some kind of 12mm ball supposed to go SOMEWHERE in the bottom of the motor.....but Im not sure exactly where or how the hell it is now in the crank case....I can feel the ball roll back and bump the crank while holding onto the pull start piece on the front pulley.

I dont wanna rip the whole motor apart if I can get it out soem other way.... but HOW?

Thanks!

Roger
