Hello,
I am going to be installing a new Airsal BBK on my 2001 Kymco People 50 2t this coming weekend. When I bought the bike, there was one installed on it. I did not know, and PO did not tell me. Long story short, it seized as a result of lack of oil (pump takes care of 50cc displacement, not 72cc), running lean, and the wrong spark plug used for the kit (an 8 instead of a 9).
With this kit I will add an extra 2 oz of premix directly to each tank of fuel to compensate for the pump not handling extra displacement, run the proper plug for the kit, and adjust the air fuel mixture as to not run so lean. This is where my question lies:
In the Kymco manual the air screw adjustment is listed as 1 degree, then a rectangle, then and omega. What does this mean? If i were to want to adjust the airs screw mixture to run more on the rich side, which way would i turn the adjusment screw? more clockwise or counter clockwise.
Also, the manual says that lean condiditons can be caused by a dirty air filter. I will clean with detergent and re-oil. Should i drill an estra hole in the airbox to allow more air in and through the system?
Thanks as always for your input,
Todd
