Air Box
« on: July 01, 2011, 10:39:26 PM »
Does anyone have a spare air box for the agility 50 they would be willing to sell? I need it specifically for the plenum (hose) that connects the carb to the air box.

Much Appreciated!

Streido: I did check ebay and bought one for $25 and it was a cheap rip off with a flimsy hose. I want a stock filter with a solid hose to connect my Uni air filter to.

Blue: that's what's I'm lookin for is a stock air box to sacrifice the hose and connect my aftermarket filter to. As I mentioned above I bought a stock air box from ebay for only the one hose I need and they sent me a cheap imitation with an air box half the size and a hose flimsy as a straw.

So if anyone else knows where I can find a hose other than the stock air box please let me know. I have checked all the hardware and auto supply stores in the area and unless I can find someone to look through their entire selection of different kinds of hoses with me I need to know what kind to walk in and ask for.

Kinda frustrating considering mine was prefectly fine until I got overly eager and hacked a little too much off of it and its useless.

Can you find someone on ebay parting one out. Another option would be a piece of pvc pipe?

Yea sid this one I just received is from Ebay and its not what they pictured in the ad. So I either take a risk on another $25 to $40 on ebay or try finding something else that will work well. I have thought about PVC but worried it might look a little cheesy... Also might be hard finding the right fit and angles, but its somethin I'm gonna look into today probably.

What about trying a plumbers yard? Ive seen plumbers I know use black pvc pipe and you can get formed bends etc.

That's a good idea worth lookin into Streido. First step: find out what/where a plumber's yard is around my part of the state. Hahaha

Around here its mostly just hardware stores n such, may require some assistance from this guy google to find something that specific.

Are you trying to put the cone filter inside the air box?

But now that you mention it... That's genius!!! I'm just gonna buy 4 more Uni filters and stick them inside the air box! Problem solved.

Then I will put some jet fuel in the tank....

Would it be cruel to start a thread with "ultimate derestriction/upgrade" and state the above as the best thing that can be done to get performance out your you're scooter?

I got to see this, can you post some pics when your done, if it works?

How you going to link up all 4 filters to the airbox?

Thought 2 small sized ones would be more than enough? But 4 :o  Have you got the space for that?

I was wanting to put mine inside an air box to protect it from rain and also to quieten it down a bit.
