Air Box

I was kidding about the multiple filters and jet fuel....

Anywho, I was in the middle of installing my 70cc Airsal kit today and went to stick those to long bolts in that run on the right side of the cylinder next to the chain and the holes are a tiny bit too small so they won't line up with the holes. In the crankcase. 

So now it will have to wait until Tuesday after the holiday before I can even get it into the machine shop to have them drill the holes out a little bigger

Can you drill the holes out yourself?

I was thinking about it, but with something like the cylinder I figure its best to err on the side of caution and have it done with precision.

If the hole is already there the drill will centre automatically, it can't do anything else.

Me too, I think thats the most annoying thing about changing to a K&N free flow is the fact that it gets 5x louder

I was wanting to put mine inside an air box to protect it from rain and also to quieten it down a bit.

that should work try drilling a few holes in the bottom of the air box or just leav it cracked open a little for more air.

I think I'm going to take it to a machine shop on my lunch tomorrow at worl and see their prices/timeframe. If its not to my liking I will just bring it back to work and have someone drill it out for me. Its nice being surrounded by master mechanics all day, although they get pretty annoyed with my little scooter questions sometimes. If it doesn't have four wheels and a massive engine its not worthy in their eyes unless its on water or snow...

befor you drill I would just try to ride with the box open alittle just to see if drill now theres no going back. and you well find your self geting the duck tape out.

my french is not so good but I understood some:

base de restriction with 85 jet instalation

1. : remove tube going from underneath the frame into the air box
2. : cut rubber ring that's in the tube between box and carb at the curve but be careful not to cut or damage through the main rubber tube. use razor blade
3. install 85 jet to balance mixture

thats about it for 50 cc but there is two more steps for 80cc

4. cut sufficient tube under 45 ° inside the air box
5. wide the air hole in the box by 2 or 4 mm
6. not necessary but you can remove protruding small tube thet is between box and carb and wrap it around with duct tape.

usually 95 jet in 80cc


someone tryed that? any results?

was curious and did first three steps with 84 jet(86 and 85 were too rich), 38 slow jet, new air filter and replaced intake manifold gasket to one with bigger diameter. Solved problem with dificult starting when warm (I think slow jet was the problem ), and generaly works fine at 300 m above sea level. Definitely got some power improvement.
