Changing the belt...

I've read in the agility 125 owners manual how to change the belt but the steps aren't very descriptive,neither is the pic. 

Is this something that can be performed by a rookie?  Are any special tools required?

(nice forum by the way)

I needed also 6 foot lever to loosen the friggin' nut!
Nobody EVER mentioned that!

As far as holding the variator fan to loosent the nut, i just took a larger flat screw driver and placed it in the fan blades and as i turned the handle of the screw driver gets pinned under the scoot therefore holding the fan still. I did use an impact the first time but i could have done it without it.

So did I and broke two fins off People's fan.

Nobody ever said that on forums either!!! Everybody is just talking about using screw driver...

Ive not had that problem. Yours must have been tighter. Ive done this 4 times now with no issues?

If you torque the darn thing back right then you will have no problems using something like a screw driver to hold the fan still. Why does everybody like to degrade peoples post on here. They should call this the kymco fight forum lol ! Use an impact the first time you loosen the nut so you dont break your fan blade! Then when you put it back on use a torque wrench. Im still looking for torque specs but i know it cant be much over 40 or 50 ft lbs. It dont have to be killed. If you wont to buy the special tools go right ahead but like i said i have had no trouble with mine. It must have been built during the middle of the week when the workers where in a good mood lol !

Sorry to replie again but you can supposedly change your belt with out removing the variator fan. Ive saw a video with it being done. I havnt done it on mine but i did try it up to the point of taking the belt off and it seemed to loosen up enough for me to get it off. I just didnt remove it cause i havnt decided if i want oem belt or kevlar belt.

After doing work on A125, I do not see how would that be possible.

On P250S you even have to disassemble the clutch, because when you compress it with hands, there is not enough space to slide the belt out.

Look i did just like the video and i could have pulled my belt off. Now i dont know if i could have put a new one on but my kymco agility 125 isnt much diffrent from any other scooter. It isnt that much diffrence. Agility 125 is a gy6 so how is they diffrent from any other scooter as far as the cvt setup goes.

Before you bash someone go to you tube and type in kymco agility 125 belt change. It doesnt show an agility but the second video down it show gy6 150cc belt change. Im not claming to be an expert by no means but i know when something looks similar. I  messed up the splines on the end of my crank so i am trying to avoid removing my variator right now. Im gonna change my belt when i get it in the mail. Ill let you know when i do and if the video works.  like i said i sasw it and went out and all but took my belt off but i didnt want to remove it till i had one to put back in its place. I dont just like the video and the only issue is the kymco is a little more cramped in the clutch area but my belt loosened right up!
