Running rich
« on: July 24, 2011, 04:42:00 PM »
Hi all,

Have been reading this site and it is awesome!  I am having trouble trying to lean off my agility 50.  The plug is 2 days old and is already black and sooty, I have tried turning in the pilot screw but it still gives off a real smell of petrol.  No leaks anywhere but there is a K&N type filter on the bike, should I change this?  I am at a loss as what to do next can anyone help me out.

you may have to check to see what size jets are in it and go down in size.

If a k&n filter has been fitted and you suspect it is rich, try cleaning the air filter. It has obviously been jetted to suit the filter, otherwise it would be lean.

Thanks for the posts guys I will clean the filter and check the jets.  I have time on my side now as the stock exhaust has just started smoking off the actual body!  Bad to worse it seems, the exhaust is really hot and even the fumes are red hot too aaaaarrrrggghhhhh I will persevere.
