Agility Ignition - Failed hot-wiring attempt & theft
« on: July 26, 2011, 05:47:59 PM »
In the early hours of the morning today, a gang of youths ('chavs' here in the UK), stole my Agility 50 from my garden and broke both the steering lock and the front-end fairings to have a go at the electrics... All electrics are now rejoined but the ignition key and I was just wondering what wires go where?

I can get this fixed, but I just need to know the arrangement of the wires.

PS. Anyone know a good Agility 50 spares site (2007 model) for the UK? I need a new gearbox (rubber) gasket seal and perhaps a new front panel fairing.

Many Thanks,
Scott

Bloody chavs ::)

I live in Scotland and have bought a couple of parts from a place in Liverpool called Hills 01695 551 974 is the number I have for them. They sell bits on ebay but if you call they have other bits not advertised.

Its a bike breakers, I got avoltage regulator and a panel off them a few months ago and it was delivered to my house. Pretty good prices too.

Prob best to get a good bike chain to keep the chavs away too.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

Thanks guys!

Thankfully the police recovered it, very lucky there! :/

I mean, if anyone has a picture of their ignition switch like the one above so I can match the wires up on it, that would be great! :)

try the wires before you soldar them. there might be 2 wires the same colour, this may be ignition on if there both connected, if the other 2 are 2 different colours when they are joined that could mean off/engine kill. thats what my old bike was like

The picture above shows my ignition switch but as you can see, they ripped the wires from the point they were soldered at on the switch itself, so I have no idea which wire goes where? I think there are at least 4 wires for this, hopefully 5 as I have an unmatched/spare wire.

My friend has the exact same moped as me, but he has gone on a two week holiday, otherwise I would have taken his front plastic off and checked which wire goes where (colour-wise)...

Not sure if anyone has the time to take their front plate off and take the pictures for me, the large manual doesn't cover this with all the electronic diagrams.

Thanks,
Scott

I just took the front cover off my zx and had a look. Looking from the back as your photo is, I have two green wires at the top two terminals, red on the left, black on the right and black with white stripe on the bottom terminal. If these colours don't coincide with yours, follow them back to the plug and see if they match up there, if not then you could possibly cross reference with the two service manuals.
Good luck.

In the Agility50 manual, there is a chart that shows which wires are connected with the various key positions, using this with a meter on your switch, you can work out which wires go where on your switch. There is a linnk to the service manual in the general section, the one I used was scootergrisen's link.
