2up non-interstate riding - Grandvista 250 or Xciting 250

For 2up non-interstate riding, what would be better in terms of overall performance and comfort for rider #2, the Grandvista 250 or the Xciting 250?  It appears the Xciting 250 is 40 more lbs than the Grandvista, making me think performance for 2 riders might be slightly better.  However, the Xciting just looks like a more fun scoot.

The Xciting has a more level seat, pillion isn't much higher than the driver and has some shelter in the wind. And the longer seat. And dedicated foot pegs for the pillion. The Xcitings chassis is superior too.

But if the GV fits you, it's perfect for 2-up non-interstate cruising as well. I'd say the same about the People. It's all about what feels right as you're sitting on it, or better yet, testing riding it!

I asked basically this same question about 4 months ago.  I ended up with a new, leftover 09 Aprilia Sport City 250.  It's comfortable 2 up, gets 75 MPG, will run at highway speeds (80+)and I got it for $3744 OTD.  The only real issue I have had is that it looses a lot of speed going up hills 2 up.  If you live in a hilly or mountainous area, that is something to consider and you may want to consider a 300 or bigger.  Other than slowing on hills, any 250 should be fine as long as you are comfortable on it.  If at all possible, take one on a test ride with your wife on back.  Without a test ride you may end up with something that is annoying or uncomfortable that you didn't consider.  Just because someone else found a particular scooter comfortable doesn't mean that you or your wife will.

The GV passenger seat is up higher than the X's.  For carrying my 4 year old daughter the GV would be better (get her weight more centered on mine).  The larger wheels and extra 40lbs on the X should make it more stable at higher speeds - but less agile in parking lots.  If you are looking just at older bikes then the People 250S would be nice (easy to get on/off, stable 16 inch wheels) - but has less with protection.  The newer Downtown 300i carries 2 nicely, and has large floorboards for the passenger.
