Hi Ya'll,

I'm new to the forum, and like it very much. I've been riding my '07 X500 since February '08, and have logged nearly 13k miles so far.

I have the good fortune to live in Austin, surrounded by some excellent back roads that twist and climb, but not so high you run out of oxygen. It's great fun when the local Harley riders hold a rally and they watch my taillights disappear around the bend as they fight their huge machines through the turns.

Not many X500s here in Austin, a few Yamahas and Bergmans though.

And like ya'll, I loooove my X500.

Nice ride bongoman!

Do you have any future plans for the bike as far as customizing or whatnot?  The Xcitings are one of my favorite maxi-scooters.  They're fairly comfortable too, I just wish the seat was a smidge softer.   Most of my scoots are 50cc, but I do have a 200cc 2 stroke Vespa.

Yes, I do have more mods coming, Aeromyst. Like you pointed out, making the seat fit better. I'm getting it remade by a motorcycle/motorscooter seat specialist kind of guy in San Antonio. He has a foam that seems to be generally better than memory or gel. And I'm getting the middle panel of the seat in a deerskin/bronze colored leather that matches the tan/bronze accent from the factory.

Right now, I've been on the road a bit, so I have the tall backrest that a man named Jac Vinson makes here in Austin. He has backrests for just about all the maxi scooters, the X500 was the latest.

I'm considering changing the bars to a pullback style with 1" riser, but don't want a lot of chrome, so still thinking on that.

I couldn't tell from your post if you have an X500 there in your scooter menagerie.

Hey Bongoman, I like the idea of the bars pulled back about an inch.  I have a Utopia back rest on a seat I pulled off another bike that I am thinking of fitting on the Kymco seat.  Do you know of any adapters that will allow for the bars to be moved back a bit?  If so where did you see them?

BTW, my dealer, MotorCycle Shop in San Antonio, Texas, has pullback bars in colors so you can see in person. He does not have the riser & skirt as shown on dragon custom's homepage.

This Sunday, we are meeting @ Valero @ Bulverde & 1604 @ noon to ride to the bike show at Freeman coliseum. Is that what you're talking about?

I belong to the Texas Road Rats. We are mostly 250 and up scooters. Burgmans, Yamahas, and I ride a 500RI. Check out our website.
I live in New Braunfels. Our rides are typicaly 200 to 250 miles. I am going to the show on sunday, but not by scooter.
I have changed plans and will probably ride on Saturday, go to the show on Sunday.
I haven't put a trip together yet but, I am thinking something around Canyon Lake and maybe Wimberly for lunch.

Bdy, Givi has a tall windscreen that works on the X500. Here is a link.  Works well, keeps the wind, rain and bugs off makes a comfy ride.  Unless you are real tall you will be looking through it.
