how do you tune the air/fuel flow with a race airfilter?

If you're still using the stock pipe, chances are you wont need to change the mix screw with just a filter.

so if i was to buy a power pipe for my kymco zx 50 aswell, what pipe would you recomend , and where should i buy it from.??

For the stock cylinder, IMO, the technigas next r pipe is the one you want.. ;)
There are a few places here in the states..(ie;provoscooter, M.H.., acroos the pond, i know spi-parts inc. has them for a cheaper price but i'm not sure about the shipping from them). At times you can fing them on ebay

thanks mate, i just bought a free flow air filter and out it on yesterday, my scooter was dieing and not getting enough fuel through for how much air it was pulling, i mucked around with the air fuel flow screw for a bit but it made no difference. if i am still running stock parts apart from cutting the cdi rev restricter what size jet should i put in to make it work nice with the free floe filter. thanks again.  ;)

I would try a "90" jet.... On the oem carb, i had started drilling my own jets. ;)

That was on the main jet. The oem carb has a fixed pilot jet.
You turned the screw all the way in and out with no change? All the way in,it should have killed the engine.( you sure you are leak free?)

yeah i turned the screww all the way in and the engine died, but i tried screwing it in and out and changed heaps of times on that but it still died mid throttle or when taking off and wasnt gaining no where near as much power as usual when taking off and top speed. can i just change the jetting without changing the carb? or should i do the whole lot, here is what i am planing on doing parts wise. i have just ordered a Bando high power race coil, a race fan, and a power free flow air filter. is there anything i will need to changing for these parts? to make it run right?

Yeah, you can change the jets and not the carb. Keep in mind that the oem carb is only a 14mm but it'll take you  untill you bbk it. ;). I ended up with a "95"? jet in mine.(drilled my own, so the sizes aren't perfect). If your planning on using the oem exhaust, you MAY or MAY NOT need to jet. Now if you modify the pipe chances are you will need to upjet.  A plug chop will answer that for you.

what is a plug chop? aha im new to all of this and dont really no, i am an apprentice auto mechanic, so i dont work on motorbikes or mopeds. so working on my moped can get a bit confusing haha. i have modified my exaust, i drilled two holes in it. and it made about 2mph gained speed. 'NOT MUCH' . i am running the standard airfilter again. but drilled a few holes in the  airbox, my scooter does 50mph.. what jet size should i run with a free flow air filter? with the stock carb? and where can i order this from online? THANKS AGAIN

A plug chop is where you get your scooter good and warm, find a good stretch of rd where you can go at different throttle positions for 1-1-1/2 miles. Installa new plug at this time, take of going at the position you want to check for that distance. QUICKLY stop while killing the engine and remove the new plug and look at it's color. White means lean....Black means rich. You should have a nice caramel/chocolate ISH color........

it APPEARS to be a good match but i cant say with all certainity. I would have to measure mine and see for sure... I have emailed them before and gotten an answer but it usually takes them a bit to answer. If i can find my old carb i can measure my jet to know for sure.....
