I've got a heat gun but didn't need it. After riding home in the 107 degree (in the shade) heat, I noticed my 500i stickers were peeling away - so I pushed them down. I figured the heat was doing it - so I pushed on the edge of one of the warning stickers and it came off easily. So I took all of them off. I've never had them come off that easily before. The Kymco sticker on the fairing is crooked - possibly slipping, the 500i and Xciting R stickers keep pulling away. Those stickers look ok except for when they are peeling loose. I imagine it's close to 115 on the blacktop - because it feels like I'm riding inside a convection oven. I might take the stickers off just so they don't fall off - and then decide if I want to put them back on after this heat wave breaks.
The raised "Made in Taiwan" sticker on the steering column bent up when I pulled it off (ok - I wasn't that concerned about it) - so I think heating up the other raised stickers a bit with a heat gun would be a good idea. I'll do the 500i stickers first. If I mess them up then I'll leave the Xciting R stickers alone. It would be a warranty item if they fall off - but it looks like crap to have them peeling up.
I'm really just curious if anyone else removed the 500i or Xciting R stickers? It seems that it would look nice - but sometimes the stickers make it look better.
*** Well - the 500i stickers were both peeling again today. I got tire of messing with them so I pulled them off. The one that was on the non sunny side wasn't quiy as gooey so it bent a bit. Oh well - didn't really like them anyway. Now it's just a question of leaving the Xciting R stickers on it. They aren't peeling as bad so we'll see...
