Has the Quannon been pulled from the US Kymco lineup?

    I don't see it at the Kymco USA website any more. There are still some 2010 models at some dealers. One has them for $2895, and that includes freight and delivery fees.

Go to the "showroom" page of the website and click on "non-current models". I believe they are getting ready to release a fuel injected model for next year if rumors are correct.

They'll probably put the 200i engine in it.  Everythying is being upgraded to fuel injection, and they are trying to use the 200i and 300i engines in them.  Every 250 was discontinued including the Xciting 250Ri and the Venox 250i. 

I have a feeling that 2012 is the last year for the Xciting 500Ri also - since nothing else uses that engine (and they have the 700 MyRoad as the new flagship).  They didn't bring in many 2010's and fewer 2011's, and they are selling a lot of leftover 2009's.  I just bought a new 2009 and got a great deal - but I would have spent the extra bucks to get the latest engine (the 700) if they would have had one available.  I think they are going to try to sell more of the 500's before they let the US have the 700...

If you get a good deal on a Quannon then it's woth getting a discontinued model.  Parts will probably be available for several years - especially because it's still being sold in other markets.  If you want to have something to keep forever - then you might want to get a different model or wait until next year.

Models no longer being built, no 2012 version is to be sold.

1. Unlike engines in scooters that are 1-cyl thumpers, Venox's engine is V-twin with 4 valves/cyl and two cams, putting out 40 % more power than scoot 250s. Discontinuation of 250 cc engines in scooters does not automatically mean the same for Venox. Considering that USA for some reason receives 2-3 year old models that are not on sale any more in Europe, I guess potential customers will be able to buy Venox in the next years in USA even if it will not be produced (still not conclusive)

2. Xciting 500i will be produced in 2012, with and without ABS.

3. 700i - still a pipe (wet) dream mostly present in commercial materials, Far East and YT but not in Kymco's sale plans for Europe and USA in 2012.

4. People 200S is out (and has been in Europe for the past year-two)

5. People 125i GT is out, People 200i GT will enter production, pumping out the same power as current People 250S.

6. Downtown 125i is out, replaced with Downtown 200i.

7. The only 125 cc scoot will be Agility (standard, not City - City seems to be out!), the only 150 cc Super 8.

8. There is no Super 9.

    I was looking through this forum and there is a message showing the service manual for a 125cc Quannon. I see that Kymco designed the engine with replaceable camshaft bearings. Nicely done, Kymco!! The Japanese motorcycle makers have been running the cams on the bear cylinder head material for a very long time--meaning, if you have excess wear on those surfaces, you get to buy a new cylindfer head. Sounds like a bad place to try to save production costs to me, but it has been "industry standard" for a long time now. I had a 1976 Honda CB750K, and that bike used replaceable camshaft stands. The old Kawasaki Z-1/KZ900/1000/1100 series bikes used split plain bearings on the cams (like an automotive main or rod bearing).

    Does anyone know if the Quannon has been dropped for the non-US markets?

AXY - please stop quoting me and trying to argue a point that I didn't make.

1)  Every 250 in the US lineup was dropped.    Single cylinder, twin, scooter, motorcycle - all dropped...
2)  The Xciting 500Ri is listed for 2012 - that is what I said.  Whether it will be in the line for 2013 is what I question.
3)  The 700i is not a pipe dream.  It is in production and being sold - starting in Kymco's home market - Asia.
4)  I didn't mention the People 200S - but in the US it was replaced by the fuel injected GT 200i.

The Quannon, Quannon Naked, and many other 125's are still being produced for other markets where they sell better.  You can see the full line at www.kymco.com

I was not arguing, just providing some information not everybody might have, about Kymco in 2012.

Quoting me and then listing your numbered comments was inappropriate and some were just blatantly wrong.  For instance - the 700 is on the market - just not in your market or mine yet.  You posted a chart for carb tuning that will come in handy to some people - the insults won't help any of us.
