Nice, sounds similar to the stuff I ordered!  Just curious, why the racing CDI?  Mine is not restricted, is yours?  If it isn't restricted, what is the advantage of the racing CDI and which one did you go with?
I have a 4T so the cdi is still restricted even with cutting the wire and it makes it bog out at around 43mph. The advantage of the race cdi is it will let me rev it out completely like a non restricted 2T. Its one thats made for the 4Ts http://www.scootertronics.com/super8cdi.html.

So my variator and air filter came in. I've got the variator all installed, and it's running great. Seems to have a bit more acceleration but it's hard to tell as it's so cold. The scoot seems to run a bit better when it's a little warmer, so we shall see.

What I wasn't able to do is change the clutch spring that came with the Multivar. I got the clutch off, but I could not get the nut off the clutch assembly to pull it apart. I used a strap wrench around the clutch and tried my hardest, but I just couldn't get that bastard loose. Guess I need to get a large socket and try again when it's a bit warmer.

Clamp the nut in a vise, and turn the clutch with the strap wrench. It works

Oh sh**! Great idea! I'll pick up a vise next time I'm near Harbor Freight, or maybe order one on Amazon.

Another way is to use a hammer, and screw driver to spin it off. U gotta figure that one out. I dont have a pict but it doesn't involve hitting the nut w/ the hammer...

Time for a big update! (Oh and I just bought a 38mm tonight and it worked like a cham on my impact wrench)

So this afternoon I did the following upgrades all at once:
1. Malossi multivar variator with 7gram Dr Pulley slider weights
2. Yellow reinforced contra spring in the clutch
3. 15% reinforced clutch springs (package also came with 30% reinforced springs....should I put those one instead???)
4. K&N style air filter
5. Stage 6 pro replica chrome and carbon fiber exhaust
6. Upjetted to a 90 in stock Carb (would a 19mm Carb be better and what benefit would it give???)

Had to adjust the idle and then I was off!

Results: take offs are good but not great. BUT, at about 18 MPH, the little bastard takes off like a rocket! AND, it doesn't stop until a hair under 50 on the flats! My previous top speed was 36 or so and I had no mid range power. I owe all the new mid range power to te stage 6...not only is it sharp as hell,  but its also got tons of power on mid and top end. Just wish it had a little more off the line but I'm definitely not complaining!

Needless to say I am thrilled with my results and couldn't wait to share it with you guys!!! Can't wait to hear your comments...Cheers!

I love hearing this! I'm gonna order some 6 gram weights I think. I'll do 3 of them and 3 of the 8s that came with the Multivar.
I'll also get some of the clutch springs and do those while I'm getting the spring in the clutch that came with the Multivar.
I have a filter already but I don't want to jet for that, just to jet again when I get a muffler, so I'll hold off on that.

If you need more launch use the stiffer springs (30%) They hold the clutch back till the pipe/powerband gets closer. You could try lighter rollers too but you MIGHT drop in top end. Tyr 5.5 or 6gr
