Odometer
« on: September 03, 2011, 02:09:26 PM »
 >:(

For every 60 miles I ride, my odometer says that I went 80 miles!! Has anyone else had that issue?

Is this some sort of trick to get my warranty to run out faster?

How can I calibrate my odometer?

Perhaps you should mention what vehicle you are speaking about.

Oh. Sorry.

Its a 2009 People S 200.
I bought it brand new a few weeks ago. (The dealer still had a couple of 2009 models in the showroom.)

Optimistic speedo is a common fault with kymco, looks like you are going fast, follows through to the odometer. You can try a different size front tyre, but that will only correct it on some, depending on how far out they are. I believe you can get them recalibrated, but would cost a bit and unless it is out by more than the legal limit, it won't be covered under warranty.

Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

The odometer is hooked direct. The speedometer works from a magnet.

Any chance thew odometer is reporting in KM instead of miles. I believe it is switchable.

The odometer on my 2009 Kymco People 150, is mechanical not electronic. It is in KM and cannot be changed. Not sure how the 200 S is set up. Look in the owners manual.
