Seat release
« on: September 15, 2011, 01:22:31 AM »
I just bought a new leftover 2009 500Ri and can't figure out how to get the seat to release. The battery is pretty much dead although the headlight does come on. Any ideas? I am trying to replace the battery.
Thanks!

Figured out the seat release. The key is finicky when turning past the steering lock. All is well.

Hey Simon,
I have a 2007 X500 that I haven't had long. But maybe I can help a little. I found that I had to turn the wheel hard to the left if I wanted the key to turn counter clockwise to unlock the seat. Also, when you hook up the battery charger, you need to close the seat so the cargo light goes off. Will not charge with cargo light on. Hope that helps some. If i'm wrong, someone pease help us out. More info we can share the better. youall please ride safe, Kymcorider

Thanks, Kymcorider =)
I did buy a new two year warrantied battery (AGM) from Batteries Plus here in Phoenix. It comes with a no hassle replacement if it fails. I do plan on riding the fat scoot at least monthly if not more. As most people start winterizing their rides, Ours come out of summer heat hybernation! (including my Triumph TR6)
