I found this eBay vendor. Not my first choice, but I haven't looked up a US distributor yet:
http://www.ebay.it/itm/PARABREZZA-PARAVENTO-FACO-22676-KYMCO-DINK-50-125-200-i-EURO3-/200824065805
EDIT: it looks like ScooterWorks resells FACO parts, maybe they can get some imported?

Just checked with that seller and he doesn't ship to the US :-(

I recently heard a podcast by long distance motorcycle rally riders.

One of them talked about prep'ing the bike for the trip by tweaking air flow dynamics.

He had a small stick with a piece of yarn tied to the end.  He used that to analyze air flow then tweak the bike and retest (probably took a lot of tweaking and many tests.)

He said it took a while but he got it perfect. The goal was to minimize the wind on the rider.

A homemade scooter windscreen would probably involve a similar process.

How come his Ebay ad says "Shipping in: America, Europe, Asia, Australia"

I'd think that means he ships to US? I'd be interested in one of these.

I had a friend who made one for his older bike (that none were available any more)

He made a form then heated the plastic over it. The first one got bubbles in it from the
silicon oil he use as a mold release. He ended up spending $50 and two weeks to get
a workable one...

I know... I asked him the same thing.

I tried calling ScooterWorks today but got tired of holding for a person. So, I sent in an e-mail to inquire as to if they can order that FACO part, as they carry FACO stuff for Vespas.

I'll try ScootWest tomorrow; they stock FACO too and they're good about sourcing parts.

If I strike out on both counts, I'll go to FACO directly. Too bad I know about as much Italian as Family Guy's Peter Griffin.

The Givi windshield seems to be available . . . . is the FACO better ?

Has anyone seen the Kymco windshield, not that anyone seems to be able to get them.

I did cut about 4 0r 5 " off of the Givi. We've been real happy with it and I certainly would recommend one for the Yager.  Couldn't stand it though until I cut it down.

Thanks - I'll probably go with the Givi and cut it down.

As long as the roads are dry I like to ride . . . temp hasn't been an issue but now that I'm getting older it sure would be nice to get out of the wind.

I prefer the FACO windscreen's size over the GIVI. It doesn't have the wings for the handlebars and fits closer to the bike's form. I'm just going to fit some BRIGHTZ guards on the mirror mounts to provide wind protection for the hands.

BRIGHTZ hand guards

I know the GIVI has that protection built-in, but I just don't like windscreens that can double as sails and take too much away from the lines of the bike.

The Givi is huge! I'm not keen on trying to cut it down. I'm worried I will do a poor job...

The folds look to be creating air disturbance too. The price might be a little cheaper on the Falco
too. If not that one I might go for the Bioni;

Listed Specs "Colourless windshield without rim Mod. Club
Size: height cm. 66 x wideness cm 66"

I'd like to see the FACO mounted on the bike, not sure how the supports work?

The Puig is shown as 500x450mm on this page;
http://www.puigusa.com/tuning-bikes/kymco-yager-unique-model/tp/c171en/f1-r17-m2736/

Givi is listed as "Size: A/D 68 x 58 cm (H x W)" on this siter;
http://www.moto24.org/givi-kymco-yager-gt-125-200i-06-10-specific-screen.html

Isotta is 620x585 acording to this site;
http://www.euronetbike.net/isotta/scooters/kymco/dink/windscreen-medium-protection-with-mount-a-420-for-dink-07.html

Fabbri is 550x680 as seen on this site;
http://www.fabbriaccessori.com/prodotto_scooter.asp?versione=8&marca=12&modello=240&l=it

For referance the stock windshield is 280 mm x 395 mm approximately

Does someone know the dimensions of those windshields?
Givi vs Faco vs Puig/Kymco?
That would help comparing them!

Yes dimensions would be good.
I'd also like pic's of each.

As for cutting a windscreen . . . The top edge may have a flair.
The flair may add strength and/or wind deflection.

I'd hate to loose either of those by cutting a screen.

So I do see the point in buying the right size in the first place.

I wonder if a group of us decided we all wanted the same Yager windscreen and made a group purchase . . . My thinking is maybe then a vendor would be willing to do it.

That's a good idea but we still don't have a price.  Nor do we have any idea about how it will effect speed.

Re: Windshield any of them available for the US?

At this time (Nov 2012) are any of these Yager windscreens available to the US market ?

I've looked but they don't seem to be . . . . It appears the Givi was, but now I can't find any of them either.
