Parting out 01 kymco cobra
« on: October 04, 2011, 07:58:41 PM »
I bought an 01 kymco cobra.  I found out the head needs to be replaced and now I am looking to part out the bike.

As I'm new ti this site, where should such postings be placed?

Thanks

In the "for sale" section, I'd reckon.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

hows the reast of the scoot if its good and strong frame wise I would just drop a gy6 engine in it and you are all good.

It seems ok.  I picked it up for only $200.  Had 27,000 miles on it.  I put about another $100 into it already.  I do not know much about locating engine types.  I wish to keep a 2 stroke.

What do you think I could expect to pay for a replacement engine?

Do you have any trustworthy sources I should look at for a GY6?

Thank you for your suggestion.

what I did was I had a gy6 scoot that the motor was dead on. So I found another one that needed a new front end so I put 2 scottes together to make one and that was like 3 years ago and I stell have it and it runs very strong yet.
