Swingarm Bolt
« on: January 20, 2009, 07:43:08 PM »
I had a loud'ish' knocking coming from the back of my MXU250, on looking at it i found the swingarm to  be loose, i tried to tighten it up but the knocking was still there.
I tried to take the bolt out to look at the bushes, sods law the bolt won't come out, it spins freely just won't pull/hammer out. I've looked to see if theres any retaining devices and couldn't see any.
So if anyone has any idea's please let me know before i get a even bigger hammer and do too much damage.....

Managed to get it out, had to grind/cut the head off the bolt and use a punch and a lump hammer. Took some brute force but it eventually shifted. Sleeve liner was cracked and the bushes wear also knackered.

Those bushes are common problem with MXU250, they wear out wery fast if you forged to put some grease. Here we have had some cases that had none of grease even when they were released from the factory.
Mine were replaced by guarantee and they lasted over 10 000km after that.(With regular greasing)
