Dragon Custom
« on: October 24, 2011, 04:00:49 PM »
Has anyone done any business with Dragon Custom out of Missouri City, Texas?

Looking around their website, some of their security certificates are out of date so I am reluctant to send money until I know they are in business.

I answered my own query with an email and an order so, disregard this question. Yes, a couple of security certificates for their website are expired, but they do seem to be in business and taking orders.

Hey Hoolander, I got the handlebar riser and skirt, mounted a taller motorcycle bar and it looks great, ride is more comfortable, laid back. I'm going to post pictures in a couple of days. There are a couple more mods to make, then it's picture time.

The holes in the skirt did not exactly match up to my '09 which apparently is slightly different from the '06. A couple of hours with a dremel and wow, looks and rides much differently. Love the extra chrome. I put 250 miles on her yesterday, the first day after installing the riser and skirt.

I raised the handlebars on my 09 using a set of risers for a Honda 600.  They fit perfectly all the holes lined up and I used the stock bars.  I did have to drill a hole about 3/8" deep in the bottom of the risers because of the little posts that fit into the holes on the bottom of the stock bars.  Took about 5 min to drill out, otherwise I guess Kymco is showing some of the old Honda heritage.  To get the risers I stopped in at my dealer who is also a Honda dealer and we measured the holes, bars and they matched up with the Honda.  I haven't put the plastic cover back on yet.  Haven't decided if I want to mess with it.  The stock bars are black and look ok.  I have short arms and it really has made the driving position more comfy as I can sit upright now.  Downside is I get a little more wind behind the Givi tall windshield because I am a little further back.  The comfort makes up for the little bit of wind.   Don't know what effect it may be with the shorter stick windshield.  Anyhow it saved major over ordering the chrome ones from Dragon.  Also they could not tell me if I could put on their risers and use my stock bars and I didn't want to send $125 and have them not work for me.  I take a photo and upload it to show the mod.

Let me find the receipt and see what model it was.  I remember it was a 600 but can't remember the model.

Xciting handlebars are 7/8" so any motorcycle bar of that size will work. The ones I used sit tall and the riser from Dragon Custom raises them another inch and a half or so as well as angle them. The brake lines are stretched to their limit; the ride is quite comfortable.

I tried to upload some pics but they were too large. I will take some with phone, resize and post them in next few days. Right now I'm spending a lot of time on the road, fun roads and good weather, NICE.

Here are some pic of the setup I have.  You are correct the brake lines are stretched to the max.  I actually took the little clamps off to get more play.  Riding position is worth it.

Still looking for the receipt to see what model Honda it was for.  I suspect that all the Hondas in the 600 cc range use same bar risers.

Thanks winginman,

Much appreciated.  Nice work.  So, I'm guess you were talking about drilling a hole into the riser because of the pins on the stock one?

I was considering changing my handle bars until I saw the pin in the upper holders.  Didn't feel comfortable drilling holes into a new bar.  One could grind off the pins, but then you bars may turn in the holders. If you had an accident, your insurance company may look at it and say that was the cause of the accident and not pay out.

All mods suffer form this.

Cheers!
