Stiffer shock?
« on: October 24, 2011, 11:31:53 PM »
Anybody know where to find a stiffer rear shock for our quannon's? Or shocks from any other bikes that might fit ours? I weigh 210lbs. My friend got on my bike, he weighs almost as much as me, and just looked funny because it looked as if the rear was almost touching the rear tire.

YEah... I hear you... been looking around online last couple of days...

found this... http://www.yasusu.com/pro_moto01.htm

seems to be most promising so far...

I ran into a guy who had a 125 cbr and he got a shock out of thailand for like 140 bucks.  Sez it's like night and day.

If I do a mod at all this winter, its going to be suspension...(and maybe a jet lol..if it works outhehe)

Hmmm interesting, and the prices aren't too bad either. I'll have to go out and measure how long the eye to eye length is on the stock shock without any load on it.

So I guess no one dumped into anything aftermarket yet?

I was at a bike show and talked to a pro about how much it would be to redo the rear and fronts.  He said he would basically respring the front forks, and then modify an existing rear monoshock to make it fit.  All in all it would probably cost in the neighbourhood of a grand.  Pricey pricey.  But you would be a completely different handling bike when it is done.

Yea, now that it's winter time here in Chicago the bike is sitting in my garage and I'm just not too motivated to do anything right now, lol  ;D

Might look into an aftermarket shock once it gets warmer outside...

I have ordered a rear shock for my 2010.  Once it is here I will take pictures of it and the install plus whatever is needed to fit it in properly.  I am hoping for an easy swap with only preload adjustments needed.  I'll post on my thread and keep that going, I'll let you all know here that I have it and it is going.
